Well, I was sitting outside the pub Barracuda thinking wow, what a great Braintree carnival (sarcasticly). Then all of a sudden I heard a heavy bass drum beat with a very nice tune. I instantly looked up and saw the Marxmen group playing. I was like this is what I want to do as a hobby. So I joined and I enjoyed it so much.
That was two years ago and I am still enjoying it as much as I did back then. The instrument I started off with and I am still playing at this moment is the snare drum. I really enjoy playing it.
I started to play carnivals and competitions as well, which adds to the fun and enjoyment of the band. I was also promoted to a senior member at Christmas 2009.
The friends you make at the Marxmen are life long friends. You're probably thinking I'm saying this for the sake of it, but it is true. EVERY SINGLE person is kind and friendly. Not a single person is horrible.
